wowowee & willie revillame permanently out of abs-cbn! win na win ang audience!

abs-cbn announced wowowee together with its host willie revillame will finally be off the air.  they announced they will replace it with a new show that will be hosted by robin padilla and kris aquino.

this is an excellent decision and we applaud abs-cbn for their decision. finally, we will get rid of willie revillame during the noontime hour. we have been calling for the permanent resignation of willie revillame from the tv station.

the choice of the new hosts, padilla and aquino is also brilliant. both are excellent draws and we think this combination of  hosts have  the potential to beat eat bulaga. eat bulaga for many years is the tv rating leader of this time slot.

this is also good for aquino as it gives her very good exposure on tv. and maintains her star power.  more importantly, a game show of this sort which if patterned after wowowee keeps her in contact with the poor, highly consistent with president aquino’s pro-poor stance and keeps her out of trouble as it is not a talk show where her personal life is fair game and her penchant to open her mouth irresponsibly and talk about any topic is part and parcel of a talk show format.

on the whole we think everybody wins.  what we are happy the most though is that with the removal of willie revillame, the audience wins the most.

MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) – Popular noontime show “Wowowee” will be replaced by a new game show led by Kris Aquino starting July 31, an ABS-CBN official announced Tuesday.

Aside from Aquino, “Pilipinas Win na Win” will also be hosted by Robin Padilla and “Wowowee” female hosts Pokwang, Valerie Concepcion and Mariel Rodriguez, said Bong Osorio, head of ABS-CBN Corporate Communications.

“It is a game and variety show that will surely bring joy, energy and hope to Filipinos all over the world,” Osorio said in a statement.

“’Pilipinas Win na Win’ will be managed by director Johnny Manahan, creative director Bobot Mortiz, business unit head Jay Montelibano, and executive producers Phoebe Anievas and Rancy Recato. It will be aired after ‘Showtime,’” he added.

Osorio said the camp of Willie Revillame, the on-leave host of “Wowowee,” has been informed about the changes. He also confirmed that Revillame will be given a new TV show.

“’Pilipinas Win na Win’ will replace ‘Wowowee.’ Willie Revillame, through his manager, was already informed about this new development. He was also notified about the new program being planned for him and this will be announced in due time,” he said.

should kris aquino make good her promise to leave the country now that noynoy will be president?

yes, kris aquino did say she will leave the country should her brother noynoy aquino win the presidential election. she made this promise when a controversy with another actress, ruffa gutierrez erupted on her tv show “The Buzz”.

that controversy started when on camera and live tv, kris ribbed ruffa about leaving abs-cbn for another tv station. we do not think kris meant to hurt ruffa, it was a joke lined with sarcasm in a nice way.

but the whole thing exploded into atomic proportions when ruffa’s mother, anabelle rama forced herself into the picture saying the things she usually say on matters like this and as always making thing even worse than it started. actually, we think anything that  involves  the gutierrez family, specially with rama should not be taken seriously by the country.

but this is one is upon us now, noynoy is set to be president of the country and we need to look back at what kris said.

kris should not leave the country –  her statement was made more as flighty statement without any serious intent in it. these are the things we hear from kris every 17 minutes. kris has her job in the country ans she is one of the more bankable tv personalities that we have. it’s okay for kris to stay here.

kris should leave the country – noynoy won the presidency on the basis of honesty and integrity. with that, kris should make good her promise and leave the country to set an example to the whole nation and to be in keeping with the ideals by which her brother was elected president.

for the sake of the philippines – ban annabelle rama from tv and the country!

i am not a fan of kris acquino.  this latest controversy that kris got herself into it versus the evil mom-daughter tandem of annabelle rama and rufa gutierez once again confirms my previous feelings towards annabelle rama – someone needs to ban her from national tv and the whole of the philippines if possible.

how old is rufa gutierez? is she over 18? i don’t understand why ruffa can be such a wimp. i don’t see anything particularly hurtful about what kris told her in the show,

i ask again – how old is rufa gutierez? why does she allow her mom to order her around and why in the world does she listen to her mom at all? this whole thing and all the other things that have happened to rufa and her mom seem to point rufa gets into trouble because of her mom. but for some reason rufa continue to listen to her mom. and she has children already, right?

we will stop here. just watch the video and judge for yourself why annabelle rama need to be banned from tv and the country.

Fans rally behind Kris Aquino against Annabelle Rama

Fans of Kris Aquino came to the defense of the beleaguered TV host after Ruffa Gutierrez’s camp lambasted their idol on national television. The loquacious sister of presidential candidate Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino, had herself embroiled in a controversy again; this, after making a comment on Ruffa’s planned transfer to TV5 in the “P.O.V” segment of last Sunday’s “The Buzz” episode.

 ”Ruffa, aminin mo, ibang level ang saya dito,” Kris told the surprised Ruffa who, apparently got hurt, retorting, “Well, I know. You don’t have to rub it in, Kris. Siyempre, I’m sad din, so sana huwag mo namang, you know, dagdagan.”

Ruffa was already near tears even as she mouthed her reply to Kris.

Ruffa is set to host a new talk show together with Cristy Fermin and Mo Twister that will collide head on with “The Buzz.” She is supposed to do two more episodes of “The Buzz.”

After Ruffa walked out of the show, her mom and manager, the feisty Annabelle Rama, made a statement on rival network GMA-7, lambasting Kris for the latter’s supposed “arrogance” and protracted “bullying.”

Kris’ fans were seemingly hurt with the outburst, and as such made their sentiments felt via the kris_aquino yahoo group.

this is a major development and pledge. it’s strong enough that kris  aquino and korina sanchez are there to campaign for the aquino-roxas tandem, adding megastar sharon cuneta to the list is, well pretty mega.

the aquino-roxas tandem has the potential to bring in a very wide crowd to their cause. they will not only attract people from across the board, they will more importantly attract the young.
