this view came to me while driving over the skyway on the SLEX close to the magallanes exit. looked sort of like gotham city in the batman movies but with a much less sinister feel.

i thought this was a once in a lifetime shot. aside from i was on a busy skyway with a high risk of getting run over by speeding vehicles – very light rain went on and off for most of the afternoon, it was late in the afternoon and there were thick clouds across the whole frame behind the buildings, conditions for a perfect shot.

makati skyline you may have never seen – rockwell condos and buendia buildings

condominiums at rockwell

we don’t think many have seen these scenes. they were taken on top of the rockwell flyover on EDSA. few people would have walked on top of the flyover and take these photos. most of us just zip by at the flyover on the way to rockwell or mandaluyong or san juan.

we were on the flyover and took these pictures just before sunset. it was a difficult shot because you ran the risk of getting run over by cars on that flyover under approaching darkness.

“make it makati” campaign – logo that works hard and beautifully

we have been seeing these banners on the main streets of makati along the ayala avenue business area and it caught our attention on the positive side.

we think it’s a good logo design and even more brilliant was how the logo design concept elements of colorful lines were flawlessly incorporated into the banner design. the whole thing is so put together with elements or components  and the whole working well together.  it’s a very classy logo and banner design which is a perfect fit to makati city and most appropriate to the target audience of business people and investors.

our push back though, although minor is the readability of “makati”. the lines in white and color makes it not very easy to pick up. the eyes naturally separate the lines, deconstructing the shape of the letters.
