this has been a long time coming. every pinoy, and i mean that literally, who has a cellphone know that these telcos have been abusing and have been unfair to consumers. they steal our load, send us promos we don’t want and gives it to us in every way. we have known that but there was nothing we can do about it. until now that is.

our knight in shining armor is senator juan ponce enrile who took it upon himself to give to the telcos for screwing consumers. well, we knew the senator was telling a lie, but we did not mind, it really was a white lie and we all love him for it.

Telcos ordered: Triple ‘load’ life

MANILA, Philippines — Bowing to pressure from lawmakers, telecommunications regulators are set to compel mobile phone firms to treble the shelf life of prepaid credits amid persistent complaints of “vanishing load” from the public.

The rules, expected to be approved by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Friday, will also require telecommunications companies (telcos) to maintain a record of phone call details for prepaid users and make these available to them for free, upon request.

Under the new NTC rules, a prepaid load of P10 or less will have a three-day validity period, compared with the present policy of both Smart Communications and Globe Telecom of having credits in this bracket expire after only 24 hours.

At the highest end of the range, credits of P600 to P1,000 will have a validity of 180 days from the time they are loaded into a prepaid user’s account.

This represents a 200-percent increase in load shelf life from the present policy of Smart and Globe to have a maximum validity of only 60 days.

All load brackets in between these amounts will also experience increased shelf life, depending on the size of the credits.

“The expiration or validity of prepaid loads shall correspond to the amount of loads purchased,” said the NTC draft circular. “The higher the prepaid loads, the longer is the expiration or validity period.”

Under the new scheme, credits of P10 to P20 will be valid for 7 days; over P20 to P30 for 10 days; over P30 to P40 for 14 days; over P40 to P50 for 17 days; over P50 to P60 for 20 days; over P60 to P70 for 24 days; over P70 to P80 for 21 days; over P80 to P100 for 30 days; over P100 to P150 for 45 days; over P150 to P200 for 60 days; over P200 to P300 for 90 days; and over P300 to P600 for 150 days.

“The validity period starts upon receipt of confirmation of the prepaid loads purchased,” said the draft circular. “Call data records shall be made available to the prepaid users upon request free of charge.”

It also mandates that access to balance inquiry service through text messages shall be at no cost to the consumer.

    Gud Pm.! akala ka ba naresolve na ng NTC ang problema and complaints of globe users sa nawawala naming mga load……..it seems wala pa ring pag babago, galit na ako talaga sa pagiging mag nanakaw ng may ari ng globe telecom, every time mag load ako que 100 or 20 ganun pa rin. S 100 load k last week naka less than 10 txt lang ako….nalowbat ang cell ka and there is no chance to charge it in the mountain kc nag hike kmi….when we go down the next day and i open my cell from 100 nagulat ako 15 pesos n lang ang load k. now nag load ako ng 20 pesos nag txt ako ng 5 txt msgs. na check off n k. 15 pesos n nmn ang ninakaw nla. every time my load ako kng ano ano ang pinapadala nla s akin…….pag wla akong load wla nmn may pumapasok n kng ano ano s cell k. I want to change it to smart but all my friends and family here and abroad cant contact me if ever i will do that. SANA NAMAN MAGAWAN TLGA NG NTC ANG PROBLEM N ITO. not just for me but to all globe users. thanks and God bless

    Problema talaga yong GLOBE..Unlimited call & text ako for 7 days na expire kanina July 25,2010 tapos nag load naman ako para sa promo nila SUPER150 unlimited call & text for another 7 days ni register ko sa 8888 walang nangyari kaya tumawag ako sa Customer Service nila para mag patulong na ma register yong regular load ko kasamaang palad sabi ng customer service representative na disable na daw yong pag tanggap ko ng mga promos dahilan daw sa mahabang pagtawag ko..regular load nalang daw ang gagamitin ko pangtawag..MANONG Johnny ano kaya PALITAN NALANG YONG PROMO NG GLOBE instead na UNLIMITED CALL & TEXT gawin nalang na LIMITED CALL & TEXT.. tama ba? simpli lang diba UNLIMITED CALL & TEXT mahabang tawagan para sa 150.00 for 7 days na promo bakit biglang na disable yong pag avail ng promo na walang abiso, dahilan lang sa mahaba yong pagtawag ko.. MANONG JOHNNY action ang katapat nito.. Gusto ko sana MASULAT ito sa lahat ng dyaryo bukas ito ang topic for the day bukas MANONG JOHNNY…
