the MTRCB and soon the KBP are holding hearings and an investigation on willie revillame’s desecration of cory aquino’s memory when he went on rant on live tv about removing the inset showing of the funeral march during his show. revillame wanted it removed as according to him which he said on national tv, it was affecting his performance as a superstar emcee of the noontime show wowowee.
these groups are doing something, we wonder why abs-cbn seem to be completely silent on it. all that they have done was to ask revillame to go on leave. first it was reported to be a 3-week leave but on this article the word being used is an “indefinite leave”. why is abs-cbn silent?
the other interesting part on this article is the mention of the fact that while the aquino family may have reconciled with willie and have forgiven him, it says here the people, the audience have not. the article says 48,165 have signed the online petition to oust willie from the tv show.
48,165 – that is us, that includes you who is reading this post. what that says is our indignation and our action on the internet is being considered and playing a factor. let us continue to be vigilant and voice our objection to revillame’s unacceptable behavior and let us continue to ask abs-cbn to remove willie from the show.

Willie Revillame says he may just leave show

PDIMANILA, Philippines—The case of the “grossly unethical conduct” of “Wowowee” host Willie Revillame during the show’s Aug. 3 episode was the subject of an adjudication committee hearing at the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board offices in Quezon City on Thursday afternoon.
MTRCB chief Marissa Laguardia said Revillame and ABS-CBN, which
produces and airs “Wowowee,” were asked to present evidence in their defense against the charge of violating Section 3c of PD 1986, for “being objectionable and contrary to … customs and traditions paying respect to the dead.”
The complaint stemmed from Revillame’s objection to the insertion of videos of the late President Corazon Aquino’s cortege on the show. In a memorandum sent to the network on Aug. 11, Laguardia described Revillame’s behavior as a show of “arrogance and great disrespect to Filipino culture.” She said the TV host also violated the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas’ code of ethics.
The three-member adjudication board was chaired by lawyer Sonny Cases. Lawyers Mona Manalo and Cherry Cruz represented ABS-CBN. Revillame’s legal counsel Armando Marcelo attended on his behalf.
Another hearing has been set for Aug. 20.
Crucial hearing
Cases vowed to be “fair in resolving this case.” He said the show may be suspended or canceled, and if criminal liability is determined, “the guilty party” faces up to six years in prison. “Next week’s hearing is crucial,” said Cases.
Revillame is still on “indefinite” leave from the daily show even if Kris Aquino, in an interview on Monday on the late-night show biz program “SNN,” said her family has accepted Revillame’s apology.
Many viewers are apparently not as forgiving. At press time, 48,165 have signed an online petition seeking to ban Revillame from show biz. Revillame said he may just leave the show. “Even if I have the support of the network and the advertisers, kung ayaw na ng tao sa akin, what’s the use?”
Laguardia noted that another case has been filed against the TV host before the KBP. She said that, in a letter addressed to KBP president Herman Basbano, Arlene de Guzman-Ronquillo accused Revillame of “psychological violence” on account of some careless remarks.

Hindi ko alam kung anong problema nyo. Tignan nyo muna sa salamin ang itsura at sa loobin ninyo bago kayo mang husga ng tao. Okay nandoon na ako, mali iyong ginawa niya based on the law na sina cite ninyo pero may point din naman iyong tao kung bakit niya ginawa iyon. Siguro inggit lang kayo dahil nasa taas na siya.
I don’t like Willie minsan sa mga unfair na ginagawa niya sa show at iyon dapat ang bigyan nyo ng pansin. Yes! I agree lumalake ang ulo niya pero intindihin nyo rin siya bilang tao lang. May management naman siguro para gawin ang dapat. Di ba? There is a lot of hypocracy in showbiz. Ano ba ang moral at immoral talaga?
I totally agree with Genaro. Napakaliit na bagay ay pinalaki ng husto. Magical happens when we come together. Let’s all come together! Pasayahin natin ang ating mga kababayan na malayo sa kanilang mahal sa buhay by bringing Willie back on Wowowee. The show is not the same without Willie. We miss you Willie!!!!!!

Hindi lang naman ang pagsasantabi ni G. Revillame sa coverage ng libing, pero ang hindi moral at makataong pag-aasal nito na sa mismong telebisyon ipinakikita. Siguro, sa mga kakampi ni G. Revillame ang masasabi ko lang, magsama-sama kayong ka-uri nya at magpakababaw. Maraming pumupuna sa kanya ngayon dahil mahalaga pa rin sa mamami nating kababayan ang kagandahang-asal. Ito ang nais nating ipamana sa mga kabataan. Tanungin ninyo ang mga bata ngayon kung ano ang gusto nila pag laki, nakakalungkot karamihan sa kanila ay gustong gayahin si Luningning, Milagring at Gumiling-giling na lang. As human being, we do symphatize people who have gone on this earth, that’s the reality of life. In the otherhand death is rejoicing and not mourning! As my point of view to this scenario,showing symphaty is not just merely crying and telling the public what you feel. Be true to yourself…Willie’s decision was just purely humane, in the sense that its awkward to be happy if in the half-screen of your TV is mourning. He did honored Late Pres.Cory, but he have to do what he needs to do.-to entertain the common people, and thats the essence of his show. In his attitude of being vulgar, the show is Live Coverage, and if its Live, everything might happen in anytime, what he did was just purely impromptu, and not scripted one, he is real…he don’t want to be hypocrite. There were those people that seems sympathizing but deeply, they were just fake! Willie deserves to manage the show…and he is indeed talented and kind-hearted being.

What Willie did when the day of the burial of former Pres.Cory Aquino is just the right thing to do because he respect madame Cory and during that time he was doing his show for the Pilipino and for sure he want to attend the funeral but he got an obligation to the Pilipino and he was not with the family that love him so much what’s wrong or wrong doing he have done people think more if its a mistake and compare the good things he did for the people in the Philippines and even in the whole world. cory loves willie and his grandchildren james and Josh.
