the post we have on this blog on the possibility of the manny villar campaign plagiarizing the tv ad of an award winning argentina tv ad is getting a lot of read. (click to read here: did the manny villar campaign plagiarize a Cannes Lions award winning argentina tv ad?)

it’s quite a coincidence that our other blog, WAWAM! after hours (click to view here: https://wawam.wordpress.com/) a very similar topic is also getting a lot of read.

there are two common denominators: (1) it involves two people with the same nickname, “manny” – manny villar in this blog and manny pangilinan in the other blog.; and (2) it

manny villar

 involves plagiarism.

many pangilinan in the other blog delivered at the the ateneo de manila university during it’s graduation commencement exercise for 2010 graduates a speech that was found out to have major parts of it plagiarized from other graduation speeches delivered by barack obama, oprah winfrey, conan o’brian and j. k. rowling.

manny pangilianan

manny, as in manny pangilinan, was outed at a facebook account for ateneans (Overheard At The Ateneo) where side by side comparison was made that showed what parts were plagiarized. in many instances the plagiarism was severe with the exact words copied.

pangilinan has offered to resign from his post at the ateneo because of the incident. but fr. nebres, president of the ateneo wants to think about it first.

is this a coincidence or what? manny and manny on the same plagiarism sin.

Yep, MVP “borrowed.” So did MBV.

Btw, thanks for the heads up Re: TBWA. If it’s true they were commissioned, TBWA backslash Santiago Mangada Puno (the Filipino counterpart) was not creative enough to come up with an original concept.

It’s finally out; TBWA\SMP defended the Villar “scroll” ad and MBV & Co. knew…

From the outset, the adapted format was made known to our Client. The agency did not conceal the truth. That’s the truth. And nothing but the truth.

Just the same, the idea is not original…and to think my wife and I were initially impressed.

Re: the ad concept, kudos to the Argentinians!

I was wondering if there is really something to the name “Manny”. It sounds like “Money”. And there filipinos with that name (or nickname) are very rich.

    manny villar
    manny pangilinan
    manny pacquiao

of course how many other unknown “manny” are poor?

      To Pinky:

It also means 3M (huge, rich corporation) and M&M’s (you know the giant chocolate/candy corporation). I had a good laugh…

The Villars and Pangilinans must be related either by affinity or association. I’ve come across some of their relatives in the US. They, too, reflect the likes of M & M. Public records are accessible for finding out information anywhere in the world so I’m sure you’ll find some “interesting news or info” regarding some of their relatives (don’t want to give away any written fact, someone might think it’s all “made up”) so, anyone who is interested, do your own research. The M&Ms of the world are so good at what they do, they can sure look you in the eye and lie (as if they’re telling the truth). The thing is, people who know better knows when a person is lying, or just wants to “look good.”

People might consider asking themselves why the Pangilinans and Villars have to lie, cheat and steal even with TV ads and speeches. For what? They’ve already achieved financial freedom and independence in their lives, so why not have original ideas? What’s the saying now, die an “original” not a “carbon copy.” And to think that the world is watching the Philippines in this election.

Lastly, when you vote, remember Reagan, Bush Sr., (a total of 12 years) and Bush Jr. (a total of 8 years) –they were all very strong religious leaders of the free world when they were in power. Fact check the economy and state of America during their eras.

You see, the word “choice” means real choice in May.
